The Song of Solomon is one of my favorite books in the Bible. It is so full of identity for me. This book really hows me the love of God for me. Love this scripture.

What a fabulous verse! Such contrast with the messages we hear in the world every day, and messages that end up in all female’s heads to some degree. Thanks for sharing God’s truth to combat the lies.

I’m going to go ahead and be brutally honest. I don’t always see myself this way. Do you ladies all look in the mirror and really feel “altogether beautiful” with absolutely NO flaws? I KNOW that it is how God sees me, but I chose this for the first verse because I need to work on converting head knowledge into heartfelt belief.

I’m going to continue with brutal honesty here…When I read the first part “You are altogether beautiful, my darling” I felt like God was speaking to me and I felt comforted. Then immediately when I read “there is no flaw in you” the comforted feeling was gone and I could have listed my flaws because I’ve been thinking of them all morning. So I reminded myself that on my own I have flaws, but through Him I’m washed clean.

    Blessings,
    Laura

“I reminded myself that on my own I have flaws, but through Him I’ve been washed clean”….simply beautiful. It’s a tough verse to swallow and yet when I find myself listing imperfections I also remind myself that it is saying that is workmanship isn’t perfect…which I certainly wouldn’t want to say to God’s face so I shouldn’t say it in my heart.

When I went through this with my girls I had them substitute their names in “my darling.” How refreshing it is for young AND old(er) for us to think of Him speaking directly to us. They were made perfect. I was made perfect. You were made perfect. I guess it’s time to throw away the worldly standards and love the face in the mirror :)

I’ve been thinking some more on this…Melissa, you’re absolutely correct. God’s workmanship is perfect, and we were created in His image. There is no flaw in us the way God perfectly created us. Our flaws come from our sinful nature and the sinful world we live in. We have no hope of overcoming sin on our own. But Jesus has conquered sin and death, and through Him we are made perfect once again! As my daughter grows up, this is definitely something I want to know and believe!

Discussing Scripture like this is exciting for me. What a great addition to MODsquad!

Love this new series. What a perfect verse for us to start on!

What if we really lived in light of this truth as His beloved?
What if we lived this out in front of our girls every day?
What if we spoke these words to ourselves each morning?
And over our girls each night?

Oh Lord, may we hide this Word in our heart!

hmm i know God sees me as beautiful but it’s hard for me to see myself flawless…..that is why i need HIM! only in him can i be flawless… once his blood washes over me then i can say I’m flawless… it’s like the blood of Jesus is the shades for God! He can’t look upon us but only through his Blood can he see us this way! pretty amazing verse

We need Him to be flawless in terms of choices…but the body you see in the mirror everyday…the nose, the hair, the gazillion things we sometimes want to change…that is all flawless. I read this verse and I can’t help but wonder how much time I WASTE wishing something that is flawless was different. Does anyone else do this? Or, is anyone else challenged in this way???

I love it. Altogether beautiful. Today and every day.

I love the reminder that God sees me as beautiful, but I don’t always. There’s too much of the world’s view in my head when I look in the mirror. And the words “there’s no flaw in you” are hard to believe when both when I look in the mirror and when I’m short with my kids in the morning, I can list the flaws easily. But I can’t tell you what’s beautiful quite as quickly. Definitely a good verse to reflect on (and share with my 3 year old :) ). I love the printables, a great way to keep it visible!
