31 Days of Prayer {Day 9} :: Firmly Planted

How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season
And its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers.

Psalm 1:1-4

Father, may this be true of my daughters.  I pray that they would find believing friends to encourage them to pursue godliness.  I pray that they would have a true desire to study and know your word.  I pray that in your law they would delight as the law leads them straight to you.  I pray that they would have their roots firmly planted, and that in knowing your word they would be sustained by the living water  found in You.  I pray that they would bear fruit, the fruit of righteousness in all of the seasons of their life, as you see fit to grow it.  I pray that they would continually desire more of You and that they would not grow dry in their love for you.  I pray that they would prosper as they obey you and the plans that you have for them.  I realize that “prosper” in my eyes, may be different than “prosper” in your eyes, but Lord, I know that you are good, and ask that their spiritual lives would grow and be prosperous. I pray that they would be firmly grounded, and delighted by your word, and all that You are!
