Last week, on my personal blog {29lincolnavenue} I put my ugly way out there. I was (and still am) a weary mom struggling with life. Here is short excerpt from that post:
I’ve pretty much fallen short in every category. I am tired and not really good for much right now. The trouble is, Lord, that I need to be amazing and I’m fresh out of amazing. At least it sure feels that way.
I also made a plea for God to send Steve Jobs to help out. He did something even better. He sent a beautiful community of moms who, get this, feel the exact same way. One of them, was Brooke. Here is what she said:
I can so relate to what you’re saying here Stacey, because I feel the same way. Right now, I got nothing to give. Nothing. Nada. I’m tired and don’t feel good and honestly, I want a break from everything. It’s not that I want to leave my family, trade them in, or get news ones…I WANT to be with them…I just want a break from hard hearts, discipline, correction. I just want their hearts changed and I can’t do it myself. Sometimes, the knowledge of this makes me feel hopeless and helpless.
Brooke is an amazing writer, blogger, and the co-founder of The M.O.B. Society (Mothers of Boys). She is a passionate mom who challenges others to pray for their boys. I love the community God is raising up through her, Erin, and the rest of the M.O.B. But at the end of the day, she is a weary mom, just like me. We emailed back and forth last weekend and then, we had an idea…
What if, for the first time the MODsquad and the M.O.B. Society teamed up to encourage other moms, who maybe feel a bit like we do?
So here is the scoop. Brooke and I will tag team a series of posts called “Hope for the Weary Mom” starting in November. They will run on Saturdays, so you can take a few minutes out of your day, grab your coffee and find some encouragement for your heart. Posts will be featured here and there every other Saturday.
I couldn’t be more excited about my writing partner. If you don’t know Brooke, well, go ahead and follow her here, here, or here. She really is all kinds of awesome.

So, what do you think? Are you in? I can’t wait see you chatting it up in the comments today, and on Saturdays in November. And while your at it, why not share this with a friend? Hope is a beautiful thing. Let’s not keep it to ourselves!

I’m so excited about both sites teaming up. Really looking forward to being encouraged.
I am so excited by this, here in the UK the summer holidays are coming to an end and I am completed exhausted mentality and physically. Most may think it’s my autistic foster son that has tired me out but it’s not. Teenagers, simply keeping them on the path when it feels like the whole world is out to get them to stray. I have felt like moving somewhere remote, homeschooling and just taking them out of society to give them a chance of a life that’s wholesome. Gosh I’m not even sure this all makes sense, I guess I just wanted to say I’m excited.

Sara, we can’t wait! God will meet us here and encourage our hearts!
What grace! I was just telling my husband last night that I just am worn out, worn thin, and burned out. I love my job. I love my home. I love my family. But I am weary. Looking forward to the series! I so appreciate women like you who are willing to be real and honest about where they are spiritually and mentally and physically!
Oh Leigh Ann, God is so good to bring us together! Praying for you right now!
Sooo agree…this came just in time. God knew!! I was just talking with my husband also, LeighAnn, about the same things. I feel healing breezes coming!
This sounds like a great idea! Can’t wait to read those “weary Mom” posts.

please, could you start before November?
I’m weary beyond words right now… Looking forward to the sharing, the encouragement.
Next Saturday, Brooke will be writing and introducing this on the M.O.B. Society Blog. God knows, He is sending you hope right now, I just know it!
So encouraging to know I’m not the only one feeling this way. Some days I just want to curl up and weep I’m so drained with it all and I feel like I’m failing at the one thing in life that I really really wanted to be … a Mum (& wife!). Thank you for not being afraid to admit that we all struggle.
Oh Natalie, I know those days all too well. He is able to bring hope. He is our great hope. We’ll wade through this together, I promise! Next week, Brooke will be sharing this at The M.O.B. Society, so be sure to check out that post, too!
I’m so thrilled that the two of you have teamed up!! You are BOTH all kinds of awesome and I can’t wait to see how God works through your efforts!

SO relate to what Brooke said in her comment to you. And so relate to this topic…about to have baby boy #4 and oldest just turned 5. I’ve been tired for a while! I can get so overwhelmed at times at all there is to do in this journey of motherhood. But God is gracious, and every moment is His. Thank you for your honesty. I look forward to reading these posts!

It’s really good what you are starting here. My boys are young men now and I wish I had had the same kind of encouragement when they were young and I was worn out. Back then, everyone had to be a certain level of the ideal Christian Mom. If you weren’t, you just hid behind that smile. Having problems or being real about how you felt was not encouraged.
You will bless many with these type of posts. And remember parenting is a lifetime career. In some way or other, you will always be a parent and there will always be challenges. Be there for each other through the long haul.
Blessings,
Janis

Wow, some days I think there is really something wrong with me. Like I can’t take one more minute of anything. Thank you for letting people know they are not alone. I have not checked my Reader in a while, what perfect timing. Looking forward to your series.
I jumped over from MOB where I write once a month. Brooke IS awesome, and I think this is a GREAT idea! I’ll be praying for you!
